The Air Jordan 14 Retro "Desert Sand" returns to us at a time when this model's outlook simply hasn't changed. The Air Jordan 14, to put it mildly, just doesn't get enough love.
Even when it first debuted, this performance sneaker's look was a bit more aggressive than what fans were used to. In a lot of ways, the Air Jordan 14 was fairly ahead of its time.
Here, we get our latest look at the historic shoe in a pretty special colour scheme. The "Desert Sand" iteration represents Michael Jordan's last days playing as a member of the Chicago Bulls. The Air Jordan 14 was the last signature sneaker to debut before his Airness would permanently change jersey colours.
In this colourway, we see the colour scheme equipped with some premium touches. Constructed entirely in sections of suede, this is definitely a lifestyle release of the retro model. The colour scheme up there is mostly neutral, combining the Desert Sand tone with hints of Black and White. As a potent contrast, we see a section of Infrared come to us via the shoe's heel, the back-end of the midsole, and forefoot of the outsole.
As a shoe with quite the history - designed allegedly with Jordan's Ferrari collection in mind - it's surprising that it manages to fly under most radars.
Unlike the Air Jordan 1's or 11's, it's quite a rarity to see a pair of retro 14's on your daily commute. Then again, that does make them a bit more special.
