Say what you want about the King's line of signature sneakers, but you can't knock the consistency. The LeBron Soldier XII SFG "Camo" shows us that this section of the flagship Nike basketball line is still going strong.
Some of the homerun elements of the last Soldier model remain on this latest edition, including a strapping system in the place of traditional lacing. The actual upper comes in a dark mesh base, overlaid here with graphic prints of Camo.
Functional elements may be highlighted by the strap system - providing lockdown and support - but there's more to it. The midsole comes with a slightly thicker layer of foam than on the Soldier XI, making up for what the former model lacked along the midfoot.
Additionally, we see the main culprits in impact protection here coming to us via the Zoom pods on the heel and forefoot. For traction, the Extra Durable Rubber - or XDR - outsole looks promising.
The Soldier XII also maintains its relatively high cut, emphasizing LeBron's preference for sneakers with a higher ankle collar. Still, the one-piece construction on this model makes sure you're not hooping in a blast from the past. While keying in on a traditional support model, the LeBron Soldier XII is quite forward-looking in its execution.
The Camo look is nothing new form the LeBon line of signatures but should serve as a welcome addition to the blistering #LeBronWatch campaign. Beyond that, it's a relative improvement on its predecessor.
