As far as release strategies go, Nike is playing it really smart with the Nike KD 11. Having given us morsel after morsel of a preview, Kevin Durant's 11th signature sneaker is finally getting set for a full-on roll-out.
This multicolored iteration is straight out of the Nike playbook for elite models. From runners to hoops shoes, slapping this bright and expressive scheme on a sneaker makes for some solid sales numbers. Seen here on the KD 11, it's certainly easy to see why.
The shoe itself is a marvel in performance design. That aforementioned upper is constructed in Flyknit all the way through. It's still the leading go-to for dynamic yet durable uppers. What's crazy is that this set-up only continues to improve.
Underfoot sits a world-beating combination of Nike's new React cushion with Zoom joining in. Much like the signature LeBron models, this is about as above average as you can get when it comes to impact protection. A nice additional feature here is the translucent midsole. It's always great to have another look at what's under your feet.
This multicolored look is as dynamic visually as the shoe is functional. Truth be told, it'll likely fall to the wayside as one of the earlier looks in what promises to be a deep catalog. Only time will tell.
Above all, it's a well-designed shoe in a signature line that keeps getting better.
Due out on August 23rd, you'll want to make sure you don't miss out on this early piece of the Nike KD hype.
