The Nike PG 2 "Olive Canvas" isn't ashamed to shout out the All Conditions Gear line. Nike's latest look for Paul George's second signature model pays homage to the historic series of durable designs.
The timing is all but perfect, with this PG 2 showing itself shortly before Nike eventually came out with the newest ACG sneaker at the time. The Olive scheme came together with details such as notes of Obsidian and Light Silver to specifically praise the ACG line.
Perhaps the most evident detail is on the shoe's tongue. This PG 2 colourway sports a flip on the original graphic. Instead of that signature logo, we see the PG 2 insignia in a style that reminds us of the All Conditions Gear symbol.
And yet, it's still the same old on-court performer.
A mesh base provides breathability and some flex while Flywire cables help keep your foot in place. Underfoot, every cut and take off is powered by a combination of Phylon and Zoom Air tech.
And finally, just beneath that load of impact protection, a rugged and durable outsole keeps you from losing your balance while knocking your defender off theirs.
The Nike PG line was one of the pleasant surprises in the hoops sneaker world this past NBA season. The PG 2 is the second consecutive widely acclaimed shoe from Paul George, who is on quite the run with Nike.
Fortunately, whatever team he happens to be playing for next season, the incredible run of colourways will just keep coming.
