Paul George and Nike recently dropped the superstar’s 4th signature basketball model. Time flies, right? Looking to start off with a bang, one of the Nike PG 4’s first colorways is this collaborative iteration with Gatorade.
In terms of design and tech, the Nike PG 4 does a complete 180 when compared to the signature line’s past offerings. With comfort being a priority this time around, the Nike PG 4 comes equipped with an Air Strobel, a lightweight footbed made up of a full-length Nike Air unit, sewn onto the upper so that the foot is directly atop the cushioning. One foot inside the shoe and you will automatically feel the upgrade in comfort compared to the PG 1, 2 and 3.
The upper consists of a semi-transparent, mesh-zippered shroud that fastens over the laces. This is definitely a look we’re not used to seeing on the PG line. With the shoe providing a snug fit, the shroud gives you a level of stylistic flexibility since the laces can be worn within it or worn externally.
Drawing inspiration from Gatorade Gx, an innovative sports fueling system, the Nike PG 4 Gatorade GX celebrates the x-factor that lives within all of us. Done in a Purple and Lime Green color scheme, details include the signature Orange Gatorade logo on the tongue, Orange laces, Purple Swooshes on the lateral side panels with water droplets, teal Swooshes on the medial side panels, the PG logo by the toe, and Purple and Green on the midsole/outsole.
