Nike and Kevin Durant have already released a handful of Nike KD 12 colorways, but one colorway that no one should be sleeping on is the Nike KD 12 Black Cement
Now that Kevin Durant has teamed up with Kyrie irving and moved to the Eastern Conference to join the Brooklyn Nets, we can already picture these KD 12s going hand in hand with the Brooklyn Nets uniforms.
The inspiration behind the Nike KD 12 Black Cement was never announced or even speculated by Nike. But with a nickname like Black Cement and the fact that Kevin Durant is a big fan of Michael Jordan, it would be no surprise for us to learn that this colorway of the KD 12 was inspired by the Black Cement color scheme made popular by the Air Jordan 3.
The Nike KD 12 is constructed out of a textile and screen mesh and fuse upper that’s done in a stark Black colorway. The tonal upper is then complemented by the marbled cement grey print placed on the lateral side Swoosh, as well as on the Flyknit tongue. Other details on the sneaker include the hits of Red tongue tag KD branding, the medial midfoot’s text branding, and the Nike Zoom branding on the midsole.
Speaking of the sole, it consists of a full-foot Zoom Air unit placed directly under the insole for responsive comfort and reactive support. The two-toned Black and White patterned laces, Grey lining, cement print on the midsole and a translucent rubber outsole round out the main features of the shoe.
If you’re looking for a KD 12 with a bit of an Air Jordan aesthetic/inspiration, the Nike KD 12 Black Cement was made for you.
